At the Royal Hawaiian Center last night in Waikiki, Renee Mokihana Nobriga won the title of 2010 Miss Hawaii USA.

Nobriga, 25, is a graduate of Kahuku High and the University of Hawaii-Manoa and works as a sales associate and model.

Miss Hawaii USA is a preliminary to the Miss USA pageant. Miss USA then moves on to compete for the crown of Miss Universe.

So far, four previous Miss Hawaii USA winners have won Miss USA, one winning Miss Universe:  Macee Wilson (1962), Tanya Wilson (1972), Judy Anderson (1978) and Brook Lee (1997) who went on to win Miss Universe.

In the swimsuit category, first runner-up, Kawena Chun, local girl host of Dis n’ Dat and popular favorite in past years, took the title. Here she is  showing off her bikini form, kept trim from her hula performances at Magic of Polynesia show in Waikiki.

Beautiful island wahines, doing hula and water sports, and holding up the banner high for gorgeous beach girls everywhere!

About Kikidoll
Kikidoll is the eternal beachgirl, and takes her inspiration from the awesome elegance and pristine simplicity of beaches and waves everywhere. She muses on islands, oceans, beaches, shells, flowers, tropical living, travel, design and style, swimming, surfing, her beloved Hawaii nei, the spirit of aloha, iconic symbols and of course the fleeting ‘endless summer’. Most importantly, she frets over what to wear at the beach!
